supernanny.

The other night Jeremy and I were watching Supernanny and got several new tips. I just love that show. She was helping a family with a five year old boy that would eat way too many snacks. We have that problem in our house . The kids are always snacking. We keep pretty healthy snacks around. We rarely have chips, or junk food in the house (or mommy would eat it all!) They have a snack cupboard and they know how to use it. Well, we decided to implement Supernanny's snack system in our house. Each child now has a little basket with their name on it. In the morning they pick two snacks, one fruit/veggie or cheese and one from the snack cupboard. (Jayne gets one more since she's home all day long). When they are hungry, they eat from their snack basket. If their snacks are gone... they are gone.
If they are completely famished and are just going to die if they don't eat another snack, they can choose another fruit/vegetable or string cheese. So far, so good. I am loving the new system.

P.S. Last chance to ask me a question for my birthday... nothing is off limits. Click the link on the sidebar.

This post in HEAVEN SENT! My kids have been driving me nuts with the snacking lately and literally eating every snack within 2 days!! I was just trying to come up with some type of system to implement and VOILA! this post. Awesome! Thanks for the idea.
