mother son dance.

Each year, the Elementary School hosts a mother/son dance. It has become a really fun tradition for Lincoln and Graham to take me. We always pose for a silly picture before we go. This year Gracie took it, because Daddy was busy. (Jayne always wants to be in every picture...) There is always a fancy pizza dinner in a cafeteria before the dance starts. The boys always choose the furthest table from the food and sit in the corner so we're totally alone. They prefer it this way. I would love to get to know some of the other mom's at the school... but the boys want me to all to themselves. I get it... I'm glad they enjoy this time as much as I do. I always make them pose for silly pictures while we eat. This year they made me get in on the silly pictures. It was fun to be silly with them. Lincoln was pretty shy on the dance floor... but Graham really let loose. All of them moms were taking videos and pictures of us. It was so fun. Here they are doing the hula hoop game with the other boys.I bet you don't see moves like these in your elementary schools... this is a fifth grader. He was amazing!

The one slow dance of the night. We didn't want to interrupt the other moms dancing with their boys... so Lincoln and Graham took turns taking pictures of each other.
I'm so glad that the school offers things like this for me to do with my kids. Gracie is so sad that the father/daughter dance is when Jeremy is in Texas next month for a conference. We'll have to plan our own little outing for them instead. I had so much fun with my handsome boys!

What a fun idea. I should suggest it to our PTA.
