my dad.

My dad is the hardest worker that I know. He and my mom came out for Lincoln's baptism this week and it's been such a blessing to have him in our home. I mentioned to him on the way home from the airport that if he got bored, I had a few projects that he could work on around the house. He LOVES doing home improvement. We pulled into the house, he put his bags away and got to work! The first thing he did was remove our old, battered front screen. It's been un-useable for the several months now.
Lincoln and Graham took turns helping him. Handing him tools and things. It was so fun to watch them get in on some of the work!

Now we have a beautiful, functional screen door. It is wonderful!

He did several other things while he was there... including teaching me how to clean our air conditioner filters (I had no idea you could just take them out, spray them off and voila... good as new!) And he got our furnace ready for winter. I am embarrassed to admit that we have never changed the filter. Six years later it was looking pretty shabby. I'm amazed we didn't start a fire or something.

I am so blessed to have such a solid example of hard work in my life. My dad is one of my heroes. I look up to him so much and have such admiration for all that he does for our family. He sacrifices so much for his children and it really shows. I love him so much.
