gracie's favorite things!

I am a huge fan of Oprah. I rarely miss her show. I think she is incredible and I just love her. Whenever her "Oprah's Favorite Things" show airs, Lincoln and Grace always end up watching it with me. They sit there in utter amazement that she is just 'giving all of that cool stuff away!' When it came time to plan Gracie's birthday, she told me that she wanted to do a "Gracie's Favorite Things!" party. And we set to planning it. It took a lot of work... but it was really fun. It started by getting really beautiful, in her prettiest pajamas and headband from aunt Jessica. She really looks so much older now that she's a big six year old... Gracie loves jewlery, so we made necklaces for the girls to take home...
Next we played Daddy games, and gave them a list of Daddy games to take home. We played slide...
And cave...After that we had some lunch. We had Gracie's favorite, noodles and chocolate milk. Her friends all brought their favorite finger food to share as well. They each took home a box of noodles, a half gallon of chocolate milk, and a kit kat (gracie's favorite treat.)Next, dancing! Gracie and I made each of them a cd with all of Gracie's favorite songs to dance to.One of Gracie's favorite, favorite things to do is help with Peter. Since they couldn't take Peter home, we gave them a Hello Kitty doll instead. We talked about all of Gracie's favorite things to do for Peter... feed him, wrap him in a blanket, rock him to sleep. They each got a little bottle and a mini-quilt to go with their babies.Once our babies were rocked to sleep, the little mommies went to sleep too! Gracie loves to sleep... so we gave them each a new pillowcase and pillow to take home. Before the fell asleep, we read Gracie's favorite bedtime story, "Pinkilicious!" I asked a lot of questions along the way about the story. This one was, "Who loves pink?!" I guess it's pretty much everyone little girls favorite color, right? After they all woke up from their long nights sleep, we had cake and ice cream! Gracie's favorites... chocolate cake with lots of chocolate ice cream and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Then it was time for presents! Her friends were so generous... she is one lucky girl to have such amazing little friends...Every time we discussed her party Gracie would tell me, "You have to have a surprise present in the closet. When all of the presents are done I'll say, we're done! and then you'll say, nope! We have one last surprise present!" Here she is opening her 'surprise present'... the big Lalaloopsy doll she's been wanting for ages...We still had a little time left before the parents came... so we danced and played a few more daddy games. School....And rock a bye baby...I think it was a very big hit. I'm sure all of her friends loved learning about and getting all of Gracie's Favorite Things!

Wow. You pretty much rock. Don't ever tell my kids what your parties are like or they'll never come back :) Bet Gracie felt like a princess.
