camping!

We went camping with some friends last weekend. Despite the sauna like temperatures... it was a lot of fun. The kids love being outdoors, add their friends and it's just the best thing ever. The boys turned a box into a robot and had fun passing out glowsticks and bubbles to all of their friends throughout the night.
Jayne was a little social butterfly with all of her little friends and spent her time playing family with all of them. I love hearing her play with her friends. Little Lincoln is one of her very favorite people in all of the world. She loves him so.

We convinced Brooklynn to come with us. She did good right up until bedtime when she broke down and wanted to go home. After lots of hugs and reassurance she went to bed and was good as new in the morning!

I felt like I was running around putting stuff up, taking stuff down, or cooking food that I didn't get to spend enough time relaxing with all of my friends. Next time we'll have to stay a little longer so there is more downtime. I really do have some pretty amazing friends.

We were able to hang out as adults at night after the kids (finally) went to bed. The boys ended up talking about something really boring, and the girls talked about books. Jeremy fell asleep and we tried to get someone to give him a wet willy but nobody would. I totally would had I not been holding a sleeping Peter at the time.

All of the little girls hair was getting curlier and curlier because of the crazy humidity. I think Maycee wins the prize for the cutest hairdo. Her mom is pretty beautiful too.

Next year we want to reserve a campsite near a lake... and spend a few days there. Hopefully we can pick a weekend that isn't so brutally hot!
