my first quilt show.

This past weekend I got to go to my first quilt show in Columbus with my best friend, Kristen, and her next door neighbor, Jackie. I had the best time. Peter came with us, because I couldn't stand to be away from him for a day. :) He was an angel baby the entire time. It was heaven to have so much one on one time with him. We headed down Friday night and spent the evening at a little outdoor shopping mall. My favorite stop was Tiffany's! I've never been in one before. They have fabulous jewelry. I wish I could have bought a little robin egg blue box just for fun.
We ate dinner at Max and Erma's. I ate the yummiest cheeseburger I've ever had. It was tasty wasty. We stayed in a fancy pants hotel. I don't think I've ever been in one so nice. I'm a Motel 6 kind of girl. Can't wait until we can actually afford to stay somewhere like this. Although, I'm not sure I can stomach the cost even then. There just happened to be a Rainbow celebration going on the weekend we were there. There was a parade and everything. We had to cross the street to get to the market for lunch right when the parade was going on. I saw a few drag queens, more lesbian couples than I've ever seen in my life, and I learned that it is legal to go topless in Columbus, Ohio. It was quite the experience.I also learned that Peter gets really scared of loud noises. There was a fire engine that kept blowing this loud horn and he screamed so loud. He was really scared! He cried for several blocks. It was the saddest thing ever.We ate lunch at this fun market. It made me want to visit our West Side Market in Cleveland. I've lived here for six years now and have heard tons about it, but have never gone there myself. I had yummy spring rolls. (My friend Noy's are WAY better). We spent most of the day shopping at all of the little quilting booths. I got some adorable fabric, and a few books with projects that will last me until I die. I am so excited! Then we walked around and saw all of the beautiful quilts that were displayed. I took pictures of my very favorites. They were incredible! I took this picture for my boys... R2D2. This one was just cream fabric that had been quilted. I think my mom should go to town on her quilting machine and make something like this...
I love these two... the colors speak to me.This one is of Louis Armstrong. I think it is incredible.
I love the flowers on this one.
This is probably my very favorite one of all. Or maybe this one... it's a toss up. This one was fun because it's 3D. The cuffs stick out like real jeans. I took this picture for the kids. Now they want me to make one for our wall to put up at Halloween. Not a chance... This one is pretty sweet. It's Lincoln's favorite.
This one doesn't look very fancy.... but it is if you know that it's about 14 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Those pieces are teeny tiny! This one reminded me of my sister-in-law Emily. I think she has a similar picture hanging in her living room. This one reminded me of the Palmyra Temple. They have a stained glass window similar to it somewhere. I think that this little guy was the cutest thing that I saw all day! I counted at least thirty people that stopped me with comments like, "Where can I pick up one of those? I'll take two!" He was a big hit and such a good boy.
Thanks for the fun weekend, girls! I can't wait until next year!
