We decided to take the kids to Boo at the Zoo this year. They went a few years ago and got rained on the whole time so we've stayed away from it. Luckily this year the weather was nice and we were able to enjoy it a little more. Jayne and Peter decided to be warmer and wore animal costumes.
Frankenstein got a little hungry and almost ate our monkey. We saved him just in time. They totally deck out the zoo for this event. They had orange and red lights shining on a lot of the trees, pumpkins everywhere and people dressed up in costumes all over the place. It was magical.
Our favorite was this giant pumpkin. It looked so pretty against the blue night sky.
The boys got a kick out of the mini-lego exhibit they had in the welcome center. This lion roared when you put your head in it's mouth. We didn't know that until Lincoln put his head in there!
The shark wasn't nearly as scary.
We are mean and we made Jayne put her head in... she was so scared!
She was totally fine once it was over with!
The boys couldn't see each other when they posed for the next two pictures...
They are so much alike.
They had these robots dancing near the front entrance. Graham amused Jeremy and I by doing his best robot moves. He got lots of laughs from everyone around us. I love that little boy.
Most of the time was spent walking around. And it was pretty cold. I was kind of disappointed in the whole experience...
They turned the butterfly house into a haunted greenhouse. I'm still wondering where all of the butterflies went.
The maze wasn't even a maze. You just walked right through it... there were no dead ends. Lame.
They did have some fun mini-golf set up. The kids had fun with that.
Peter looked so chubby and snuggly in his little monkey costume!
Jayne was excited that we let her play all by herself.
I think it took them each about 15 tries to get their ball in...
It was unanimous that we will not be buying tickets next year. There was a lot to see... but not enough to do. I guess I expected more crafts and interaction.
It was a little fun though... and we created some memories... that's all that really matters, right?
