getting my craft on.
I've been craving more spring time decorations in our home the last few weeks. After scouring crafty blogs and coming up with absolutely nothing... I decided to invent my own little creation. I'm sure it has been done before... but it was a first for me. First we went to the store and bought lots of silk flowers and some styrofoam balls. Then my two lovely assistants helped me pull off all of the actual flowers.
They even sorted them into little color coded piles for me. So nice.
Then we started sticking them in the styrofoam. Graham was a big help with this.
I decided it would be best to hot glue them into the styrofoam so that they would be more durable.
All done! I perfect little flower ball. Graham thinks they are hilarious. He calls them flower heads.
All of those flowers (about 12 stems total) made four small balls and one large one. Next time I will buy more so that they are more full. You can see the styrofoam if you look closely. (Don't look closely if you come to my house.)
Here's how we displayed them around the house. On a candle stick...
On an upside down glass goblet...

Cute! Wish I was more creative like that.
I love this idea.
I love them! I've been looking for springy ideas too and I haven't spotted anything I've really loved yet... except for this. :D I think I'm going to have to copy you.
I LOVE these Chelle! Thanks for the great idea. I need more spring/summer idea's. I have been wondering how to decorate for this time of year when I took down my easter stuff.
