Graham found two Scarlet Macaws (thank you, Diego, for teaching my children about different species of animals...)The anteater got up close and personal with them. Daddy loves anteaters.... I think they're gross.
They both loved the orangutan. He was very fun to watch. I still don't know why he was eating a paper bag.
This was Jayne's favorite thing to do... tap on the glass as fast as she could while saying, "Wook! Amimals! Wook, Grammy! Wook, Mommy! See that, you see that!"
Peter rather enjoyed sleeping through the entire experience....
This picture shows you Miss Independent--do it mine-self girl in all her glory. She refused to ride in the stroller to the car... and insisted on walking all by herself with her hands in her pockets. She also had to have her hoodie on because it was a "Windy day!"
We can't wait until its warm like this everyday! I see lots of trips to the zoo in our future.

57 degrees.
Remember all of that ice? Yeah... it's gone. And in it's place we have had several sunny 50 degree days! I know that we're going to be getting more snow... but I'll take this little burst of sunshine in my life! Heaven knows I need it!
One of the days that was especially nice I decided to these two (plus a sleeping Peter) to the zoo. I have a hard time taking my youngest out to do things while the older two are at school. I just feel guilty that they're missing out on something fun. I need to break away from that mentality though, because these guys deserve some fun in their lives as well.
Graham's favorite things in the rain forest were the snakes... he pointed to all of them and yelled for me to "come closer so you can take a good look at them!"
They both loved standing up on the railing to get a better look of things. Lots of moms wouldn't let their kids do this... I see no problem with it. It's not like they're going to fall in... and the germ factor-- we're at the zoo. They are going to be exposed to plenty of germs.
This was the highlight of my day. Jayne was watching this beautiful pink bird, completely in awe when all of a sudden it flew over her head and landed right next to her!
She screamed like a banshee and jumped when the bird took flight again. I was able to get video of the second take off and landing. My favorite is her nervous clapping.

What a fun day at the zoo.
I would tell you how warm it has been here this last week, but then that would make you envious.
I totally agree that it is hard to take the younger kids out when the older ones are in school. We had a couple of 60 degree days too. I think I had the wrong attitude about it though. For me it was "Darn, now I have to take the kids to the park."
