summer cleaning.

We spent a Saturday recently cleaning up our yard. We had a lot of work to do... so we invited our Home Teachers to come and help us. They were so kind and came bearing power tools to help get the job done a little faster. We love them so much.
I neglected to take before pictures of anything... but if you've ever seen our yard... you know it was bad. It's a horrible combination when both parents hate doing yard work! Here's our hedge. We just flattened out our side of it since technically it's our neighbors responsibility to keep it trimmed.

The back part of the yard is my favorite. Usually it's completely overgrown and we can't see through the bushes to the other house.
The side of the house comes in a close second to the back as far as favorites go. There used to be this awful tree that kept growing back no matter what we did to it. This time we took a chainsaw to it. I'll be surprised if he comes back next year. There is usually tons of weeds here as well. I'm sure our neighbors are happy they are all gone. I'm sure getting into their car is much easier now.

The front of the house got some sprucing up a little too. Now, if I can just convince Jeremy that we need to repave our driveway right now instead of a year from now when we move.... that would be awesome.

So happy it's done and we can play in the yard without feeling guilty about doing yardwork!
